International options for families and investors: start with the objective, not the program

Families and investors do not always want the same outcome. Some clients prioritize relocation, others mobility, business, education or long-term family planning.

Families and investors do not always want the same outcome. Some clients prioritize relocation, others mobility, business, education or long-term family planning.

Start by defining the real objective

Before comparing countries and programs, define why you want an additional international option: residence elsewhere, greater mobility, family planning, education, business and investment or broader long-term flexibility. A clear objective removes unsuitable options early.

Family composition changes the comparison

Family size, children’s ages and whether parents or adult dependants can be included may affect both eligibility and cost. A program should therefore be compared for the whole family, not only for the main applicant.

Investment budget versus total cost

The investment budget and the total cost are not the same. Government charges, due diligence, professional fees, investment or property expenses and future renewal or holding costs may all matter.

Speed is not the only criterion

A faster route can look attractive, but long-term fit is usually more important: legal and financial obligations, residence or renewal requirements and whether the route realistically serves the family or investment objective.

Initial assessment before specialist advice

Current nationality, country of residence, family size, approximate budget, timeframe and primary objective provide enough context for an initial commercial assessment and to determine whether specialist referral may be appropriate.
